June 2007

It was road trip weekend to the Highlands Inn in New Hampshire for the June 15 weekend. This is one of our favorite summertime venues, and some of our best American friendz (Izzy, BonBon, Auntie Comet, DA2 and Crystal) came up for the weekend. We spent lotz of time in the pool wreaking havoc, soaking up the sun on the deck, drinking pina coladas, laughing, and then laughing more. Friday night we harassed the staff at the Eastgate Restaurant, and Saturday night we had the benefit of Lisa Shoemake helping us with set-up, and sitting in on congas for our evening gig at the Highlands. We've also now started recording our gigs and in the next year or so will be releasing a live performance CD. Sunday we had our 4th lobsterfest at the farmhouse - smelled awfully fishy when we left.…

As always Grace the Innkeeper and the staff at the Highlands fed us awesome breakfasts, and took great care of us. We met lots of new girlz like that from Quebec, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Long Island, just to name a few. If you haven't yet had a trip to the Highlands, you should definitely put it on your "top ten list of things to do".

Although D was busy in Connecticut, Robin and Lindsey were invited to play with Shelley Montreuil of Tell Mama, aka "Shelley Sax", at a Summer Solstice Party close to Perth. It was a beautiful day and we played a blend of rock girlz meet jazz girl, in a very serene setting on a deck overlooking Lake Canton. Thanks so much to Anne and Louise for including us in this awesome annual party. We met some wonderful women and hope to see them again soon!

May 2007

On May 10th, we took a little road trip to lovely little Perth, Ontario, and we discovered very quickly that we love Perthians! We were auditioning for the 17th Annual Stewart Park Festival at O'Reilly's Pub. Twelve performers and/or groups were auditioning for 5 spots at the Festival on Friday afternoon.

We, played "Leave it Alone" and "Jezebel", two of our original tunes, which seemed to be well received, especially since Robbie made Jezebel an audience participation song (as usual) and the house was rockin! The best part of the night is that we got to hang out for most of the warm, almost summer night on O'Reilly's awesome outdoor patio, with the terrific musicians and Perthians we met. We're looking forward to seeing them all again. Check out the Gigz page for more info on the Stewart Park festival and when we are playing.

May 11th marked the first "Girls Night Out" of the fifth season of Kingston's local monthly female artist series. We had a great time playing and hanging out with our Kingston area friendz….thanks for the dancing and singing girlz--you rock!

April 2007

It's been a busy month getting set for the upcoming gigging around season. Website update, mailing list update, and practice, practice, practice. Robbie's been keeping out of trouble connecting with festivals, and we've all been writing some music, pulling together new songs and spit polishing some not-so-new ones. We're really pumped about the sets we'll be playing and can't wait to get going!!

We also decided that since we get to visit so many great places and meet a lot of awesome people, we want to keep a journal and share pictures and highlights of the 2007 season.
